The drug should be taken as prescribed for you. It is advised to take it with a full glass of water.

Missed Dose

If you seem to miss a dose, take it immediately you remember. But you should not take double dose to make up the missed dose.

Over Dosage

This drug can have serious consequences if taken in excess. If you suspect an overdose, ask for medical treatment without delay.

Before Taking Generic Trileptal

Before taking this drug, you must tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, if you are breast-feeding a baby or if you are pregnant. It may have adverse impact on the fetus. Inform your doctor if you have allergies to carbamazepine, any other drugs, foods, or other stuffs. Your doctor must know if you have low blood sodium levels or a history of mental or mood problems or suicidal thoughts or actions.

Side Effects

Side effects that are most commonly found while using this drug are headache, dizziness, somnolence or fatigue, viral infection or nausea. There has been report of hyponatremia (low serum sodium levels) in some patients. The majority patients, who developed this adverse effect, were asymptomatic.

Some added adverse effects are related to the central nervous system (CNS). These are: psychomotor slowing, speech or language problems, difficulty with concentration and coordination abnormalities. These CNS side effects were dose
